How can I make my Botox look natural (and why it looks unnatural)

Botox, despite what its name suggests, isn’t actually an invasive procedure. It just involves the injection of a small amount of Botulinum Toxin Type A directly into certain facial muscles to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and other signs of aging. It usually takes about 10-14 days for the Botox to take effect, but people typically see results within 24 hours after receiving treatment. One common complaint about Botox that some patients have is that it looks unnatural because it removes all of their facial expressions. Luckily, there are ways to make your Botox look natural.

How to make Botox look natural?

Are you worried that Botox will make you look like a frozen barbie? What goes into an injectable like Botox is really just pure protein—it’s safe to use in all sorts of anti-aging treatments. But here’s where things get tricky: The proteins used for skin firming are different from those used for smoothing wrinkles, and there’s also a difference between firming up crepey skin versus softening fine lines and crow’s feet. So if you get some injected that doesn’t address your particular concern, you may end up with a face that actually looks less natural than before treatment.

The solution? When considering botulinum toxin injections for skin rejuvenation, be sure your dermatologist or plastic surgeon understands exactly what you want so she uses only product that addresses your specific concern and has experience with giving these injections safely. This also applies for if you want Botox around your eyes and Botox for your nose.

Why does Botox look unnatural?

Although Botox’s primary objective is to smooth wrinkles, its secondary effect is to produce a more youthful appearance. Some doctors, however, use TOO MUCH PRODUCT during each treatment session. Overly-treated areas appear overly tight and unreal. To avoid unnatural results, your doctor should inject small amounts of Botox at one time so as not to overdo it. Also ensure that your doctor has excellent training and experience with administering botulinum toxin for cosmetic purposes. The best way to maximize your chances of looking naturally beautiful is by consulting with a licensed dermatologist. The procedure shouldn’t hurt either. A licensed dermatologist may recommend topical anesthetics or numbing creams beforehand in order to reduce discomfort while getting injections around your face.

Can you have natural looking Botox?

Using a specific technique, you can have smooth skin and still maintain a more youthful appearance. While your facial muscles will still move, they won’t have as much impact on how deep lines and wrinkles appear on your face. This is one of main reasons women feel their Botox has had an unnatural result, it doesn’t help soften wrinkles or small lines in addition to enhancing facial muscles. It just makes them completely disappear. Natural-looking Botox is strived for as it gives people confidence and also allows men to get comfortable with Botox.

How long does it take for Botox to look natural?

Typically three to five days, but varies on a case-by-case basis. In some instances, people may need more than one treatment to achieve smooth results. And if you’re someone who still wrinkles when you smile or frown, we recommend consulting with your dermatologist about whether or not Botox is right for you. Many of our doctors are skilled in using Botox and Dysport (Botox’s chemical cousin) in small doses to soften dynamic wrinkles caused by facial expression.

Best way to maintain fresh looking skin: Staying hydrated and applying broad spectrum SPF 35 daily are two great ways to keep pores clear and skin healthy.

Can you get subtle Botox?

Subtle and natural-looking results are possible with Botox injections. Results are almost always immediate, but visible effects will last for three to four months. If you want subtle Botox, there are a few tricks you should know. First, understand that most injectors base their recommendations on personal preference: if you want dramatic results, they’ll recommend more units; if you prefer a lighter touch they’ll use fewer units or recommend different fillers instead. Additionally, your Botox injector might be able to adjust how much product is injected—particularly when working around your eyes. The key here is that no one injection will give everyone exactly what they’re looking for. EVERY SITUATION IS UNIQUE.

Do you have to keep getting Botox once you start?

Women may notice changes in their facial features from using Botox and may feel that they need to keep getting Botox. However, once you start using Botox and get used to it’s effects on your facial appearance you don’t have to keep getting more shots. Once your body develops a tolerance for Botox you no longer need to get more shots. If you still want a smoother face then there are other options available like laser therapy that will help smooth out lines and wrinkles. A few treatments are needed but after a few sessions you won’t even be able to tell you had any kind of wrinkle in your skin before treatment started. Look at yourself before treating your lines and decide if having them gone would improve your daily life more than having them present. Make sure that making small tweaks around family or work is important enough for you because after some time, people around aren’t going to know about how many treatments you’ve had done; they’ll just see how radiantly beautiful YOU are!

Natural-looking Botox

Like all face lifts, Botox treatments are meant to slow down and reverse the signs of aging. Unfortunately, however, even if you’re using botulinum toxin to smooth wrinkles on your forehead or other visible areas of your face, these lines and creases are still going to be visible. This is because these facial muscles are what create these lines when we express emotions like laughter or anger.
